The relationship between the width of the mechanical seal gasket and the pressing force:
The wider the mechanical seal gasket of 104 water pump, the greater the pressing force required for the seal, the higher the strength and rigidity of the connector, and the relatively bulky structure. Therefore, under the premise of ensuring the sealing performance, as long as the gasket is not crushed, the width should be narrower. In the current relevant standards in my country, the width of non-metallic soft gaskets for pressure vessel flanges is generally between 18-30mm, and the width of metal-clad gaskets is between 16-25mm. Gaskets for pipes and valves are narrower.
The thickness of non-metallic soft gaskets is generally not specified in the standard. Commonly used asbestos rubber sheets, oil-resistant asbestos rubber sheets, rubber sheets, and polytetrafluoroethylene sheets have a thickness range of 0.5-5.0mm, and the most commonly used are 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, and 3mm. 482.html,
