DIY: Broken Lawn Mower Shaft

Sometimes you only see huge hidden objects such as stumps and rocks in the last second, which makes it difficult for you to avoid hitting them while trimming your lawn.This will damage not only the cutting blade, but also the engine crankshaft and other internal parts.The broken engine crankshaft is an expensive repair method that requires basic manual tools and some special tools to replace.You need to consult the mower repair manual as a reference guide for torque specifications.Drain excess fuel from the fuel tank of the engine installed on the engine assembly.Z-of the engine throttle cable-Shape end and needle of throttle connecting rod of carburetor-nose pliers.Remove the fixing screw and lift the air filter assembly from the carburetor.Unlock any wire connectors that may be shipped to the engine on the mower model.Screw the engine spark plug on the engine cylinder with a spark plug socket wrench to allow the engine crankshaft to rotate freely--This is suitable for riding mower and pushing mower.Insert a block of wood between the lawn mower deck and the edge of the blade to prevent the blade from turning.Loosen the blade fixing bolt with a socket wrench and remove the blade and gasket from the crankshaft on the thrust mower.On the riding mower, unscrew the pulley fixing bolt and remove the engine pulley from the crankshaft.Pump the oil out of the engine.Screw the box-to-Chassis fixing bolts with socket wrench.Lift the engine from the chassis and set it on a solid working surface.If applicable, screw off the oil filter tube to fix the screw with a socket wrench.Unscrew the blower shell fixing bolts on the engine Quaker assembly and lift the blower shell from the engine Quaker assembly.Screw the flywheel fixing nut from the crankshaft with a socket wrench.Use the flywheel puller tool to pull the flywheel from the engine crankshaft.Use a socket wrench to unscrew the screw box cover fixing bolts on the engine starter box and remove the cover from the starter box.The crankshaft cover is generally at the bottom of the engine or on the pulley and blade side.Place the engine assembly on the side with the exposed Cam and crankshaft facing up.Align the timing mark on the crankshaft gear with the timing mark on the Cam gear.Gently pull the cam from the engine twist to avoid a collision or impact on the Cam leaves on the internal engine.Rotate the engine crankshaft until the piston reaches the center of the engine cylinder.Screw down the piston rod end cap with a socket wrench to fix the bolt;Pull the piston rod end cap from the connecting rod.Rotate the crankshaft from the piston connecting rod;Pull the broken crankshaft out of the twist.Check if there are pieces left by damaged or broken crutch inside the crutch and clean them up with a shop towel.Apply a layer of oil to the crankshaft oil seal with your finger to lubricate the seal.Slide the new crankshaft into the engine oil seal and turning box to avoid damage to the crankshaft convex angle and Journal.Rotate the crankshaft so that the crankshaft blade is seated at the end of the piston connecting rod.Set the end cap on the piston connecting rod;Fix the bolts with a torque wrench and sleeve according to the specifications of the mower model.Slide the cam into the curved box to align the timing mark on the Cam gear and the crankshaft gear.Slide the new curved cover gasket on the curved cover to align the curved cover gasket hole with the fixed bolt hole.Slide the crankshaft cover over the engine crankshaft, flush with the crankshaft, and make the crankshaft cover Bolt torque.Assemble the mower engine in reverse disassembly order and place it on the mower chassis.Fix the bolts with a torque wrench and a sleeve torque turning box.Hook the Z of the throttle cable-End formed by needle on the accelerator connecting rod of the carburetornose pliers.Set the air filter assembly on the engine carburetor and tighten the fixing screw with a screwdriver.Reconnect any wires disconnected from the engine.Add fresh oil to the engine.Reinstall the spark plug;Tighten with plug socket wrench and reconnect the spark plug wire.Start the mower engine and leave it idle for about 30 minutes to break in the new crankshaft.Drain the oil, remove small metal particles that may damage the new engine, and refill with the new oil.
