What requirements should be paid attention to when installing mechanical seals?

The mechanical seal is a tight part, and the requirements for manufacturing accuracy and installation accuracy are very strict. Improper assembly will affect the sealing performance. To install correctly, the following points must be paid attention to:

1. Requirements for the matching part of the mechanical seal:

① The shaft where the mechanical seal is installed shall be manufactured with a minimum diameter of h6 and a surface roughness of 1.6μm.

② The end of the shaft (shaft sleeve) where the moving ring seal ring is installed and the mounting hole of the static ring should be chamfered and polished.

③ The axial movement of the shaft shall not exceed 0.5mm.

④ The radial swing under the static ring of the shaft shall not exceed 0.5mm.

⑤ The perpendicularity between the shaft and the flange of the pump port shall not be greater than 0.5mm.

2. Installation requirements of mechanical seal:

① Each part in the component complies with the drawing design requirements.

② There should be a gap of 3-5mm between the moving ring seal ring and the moving ring seal chamber of the average mechanical seal.

③ When installing the static ring, the end face needs to be aligned statically and ensure that the perpendicularity between the end face and the axis is allowed to be 0.05mm.

④ The compression of the spring is allowed to deviate according to the requirements of the drawing±0.2mm.
