There are three basic lubrication types for fluid mechanical seals like bearings (Figure 2-44):

(1) The mechanical seal for the pressure screen, the hydrodynamic fluid film and the planting capacity are produced by the relative movement of the two mating surfaces of the friction pair [Figure 2-44(a)];

(2) The bearing capacity of the hydrostatic fluid film is caused by the internal pressure difference flow, and has nothing to do with the movement of the mating surface [Figure 2-44 (b)];

(3) 58B seal replaces Johncrane 58B mechanical seal. The squeeze fluid film type fluid film and the planting capacity are produced by the vertical movement of the mating surface [Figure 2-44(c)];

About these effects, they have been reflected in the Reynolds equation, and there is also a mixed type of fluid dynamic pressure and static pressure [Figure 2-44(d)];
