From the temperature rise of the sealing end surface, the working condition of the sealing pair can be judged. When the temperature rise is too high, it will cause the vaporization of the medium between the friction surfaces, the deformation of the seal ring, and thermal wear, and the temperature change will cause thermal shock and thermal cracking. In the sealing of petrochemical machinery and pumps, temperature changes can also cause deterioration of the sealed medium, such as solidification, polymerization, crystallization, dissolution, and coking of the medium.
