In 1985, out of the need to replace asbestos, MTI (American Institute of Chemical Industry Technology) and PVRC jointly carried out research on the high temperature performance of asbestos gasket materials to determine an evaluation of the long-term mechanical properties and sealing performance of non-asbestos gasket materials. Various tests have been carried out so far: ①simulated combustion screening test; ②high-temperature aging tensile/screening test; ③hot sealing test; ④age relaxation leak test; ⑤simulated combustion sealing test.
