The advantages of temperature control for mechanical seals:

The use of temperature control is not only good for sealing, but also good for actual use, which can avoid or reduce:

①The friction pair seal ring is deformed and the carbon graphite ring impregnant is burnt or melted;

②Viscosity of the liquid film between the sealed end faces changes, and the liquid film vaporizes to destroy the liquid film;

③The auxiliary sealing element fails, such as the softening, aging and decomposition of rubber and plastic sealing rings;

④Accelerate the corrosion and accelerated wear of parts by the medium;

⑤ Some media are easy to crystallize, solidify, polymerize or decompose. Sand mill mechanical seal

It can be known from experience that the use of friction pair materials with high temperature resistance and good thermal conductivity alone and a reasonable structure often cannot fully achieve the expected results. To be fully realized, it needs to be equipped with appropriate temperature control measures.

The temperature control methods and measures of mechanical seals are shown in Figure 6-10. When selecting and using the temperature control system, it should be based on actual working conditions.

To achieve temperature control, the commonly used methods include flushing, cooling, back cooling and circulation.
