The basic process of the mechanical seal system function is flushing other than flushing:

The flushing that uses another kind of external flushing fluid to inject into the sealed cavity to achieve the seal is called external flushing. The external flushing fluid should be clean, free of solid particles, non-corrosive, and low in temperature. It has good lubricating properties and is not easy to vaporize under operating conditions; at the same time, it must be compatible with the sealed medium and does not affect the quality of the process product . The pressure of the flushing fluid is 0.1-2.0MPa higher than the pressure of the sealed chamber. This flushing method can be used when the temperature of the sealed medium is high, easy to vaporize, strong corrosive, and containing solid particles. The typical external flushing is shown in Figure 6-16. The pressure of the external flushing liquid is controlled by the liquid sealing station, and the flow rate is controlled by the throttle bushing at the bottom of the sealed cavity, and the flow meter shows it.
