The orifice plate is a device used to control flow. It is often used in a sealing system for medium flushing. The structure is shown in Figure 6-5. The size of the small holes of the orifice plate are: 1, 1.2, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6.7, 8, 9, 10mm. The flow range is 2~40L/min, and the pressure range is 0~6.3MPa. The principle of flow control by the orifice plate is that when the fluid passes through the narrow orifice, the flow velocity increases sharply, and the flow channel suddenly expands after passing through the orifice, and the fluid forms a large number of vortices, which causes the loss of fluid mechanical energy (mostly converted into heat energy) A huge pressure drop is formed. The fluid flow through the orifice plate is closely related to the pressure difference between the two sides of the orifice plate and the diameter of the small hole. The greater the pressure difference, the greater the flow; the larger the diameter of the orifice, the greater the flow.
