According to the fluid flow conditions, mechanical seals can be divided into laminar flow and turbulent flow: usually distinguished by the Dino number: under low Reynolds number, the movement of fluid particles is not mixed and presents a state of stratified flow, which is called laminar flow; Under high Reynolds number, the stratified flow of fluid particles is destroyed, intermixing with each other, and only longitudinal pulsation, called laminar flow (or turbulent flow). In the middle of these two flow states, the stream is corrugated and swings up and down, which is called the transition state. The characteristic of laminar flow is that the speed has nothing to do with the inner surface roughness, and it has a parabolic distribution (the characteristic of turbulence is that the flow pattern becomes a turbulent flow characterized by vortices and vortices, and the velocity component of random turbulent fluctuations is applied above and below the average value. The flow velocity is distributed in an elliptical line with a blunt tongue tip (dotted line), usually the critical Reynolds number.
