The solution: the recirculation is led from the outlet of the pump, through a flow control orifice to the sealed chamber, and at the same time from the sealed chamber through a flow control orifice (if required) to the pump inlet. This allows fluid to enter the sealed cavity and provide cooling while continuing to vent and reduce the pressure in the sealed cavity. Scheme 14 is a combination of scheme 11 and scheme 13. It is recommended for mechanical seals of light hydrocarbon media.
