How to maximize the efficiency of mechanical seal?

In order to give full play to its application efficiency, the mechanical seal has strict operational requirements and precautions during installation, which can effectively achieve the purpose of improving equipment application and avoiding equipment failure.

1. During installation, a layer of clean mechanical oil should be applied to the surface in contact with the seal so that it can be installed smoothly;

2. The sealing chamber of the equipment should be kept clean during installation, and the sealing parts should be cleaned to keep the sealing end face intact and prevent impurities and dust from being brought into the sealing part;

3. It is strictly forbidden to knock and hit during the installation process, so as to avoid damage to the mechanical seal and cause seal failure;

4. The run-out of the equipment shaft should be≤0.04 mm, the amount of axial movement is not allowed to exceed 0.1 mm;

5. When installing the static ring gland, the tightening screws must be evenly stressed to ensure that the end face of the static ring is perpendicular to the shaft;

6. Push the moving ring by hand after installation, so that the moving ring can move flexibly on the shaft and have certain elasticity;

7. Turn the rotating shaft by hand after installation, and there should be no feeling of lightness or heavyness of the rotating shaft;

8. The equipment must be filled with medium before operation to prevent dry friction from causing the seal to fail;

9. For easy-to-crystallization and granular media, when the temperature of the media is > 80°C, corresponding washing, filtering, and cooling measures should be taken. For various auxiliary devices, please refer to the relevant specifications of mechanical seals.

In short, in the installation of mechanical seals, strict compliance with the above-mentioned precautions can effectively avoid the environment that causes equipment application failures, and can effectively improve the application efficiency of equipment.
