When the gas film mechanical seal is used in a pump that transports liquid, a small amount of gas will be blocked from entering the liquid. In most cases, the blocked gas has no effect on the continuous delivery process. However, in some cases, blocked gas will have a certain impact on the delivery process. In view of this situation, a gas separation device can be used to separate the blocked gas in the transport medium. 224 mechanical seal

A film-sealed gas supply system for pumps designed with gas separation devices is shown in Figure 4-18. The gas separation device is installed upstream of the mechanical seal on the medium side to prevent blocked gas from entering the cavity of the pump. The pump ring makes the blocked gas flow to the vent hole, enter the gas separation tank, and finally be released.

In order to ensure that all the gas entering the pump cavity is separated out, the degassing tank is connected to the suction side of the pump. The two-phase flow generated between the gas dust removal tank and the separation tank can make the gas completely out of the sealed cavity.
