At present, the medium delivery pump in the domestic latex production device is basically a centrifugal pump or a screw pump, and the shaft seal usually adopts a contact mechanical seal or a soft packing seal. If the ordinary contact mechanical seal is used, the latex is likely to self-aggregate on the end face of the friction pair under the action of frictional heat and adhere to the end face of the seal, leading to early failure of the seal and causing the latex to enter the bearing and cause damage; while the traditional The soft packing is sealed, but it cannot be cooled by water. On the one hand, it may cause serious abrasion and scorching of the packing. Figures 4~25 show the shaft seal structure used on the centrifugal pump of a foreign-funded enterprise producing styrene-butadiene latex. It is an imported tandem bellows mechanical seal, and a certain pressure of flushing water is injected between the two sets of seals. Not long after the device was in operation, it was discovered that latex had leaked into the flushing water. In less than a month, the pump was stopped and the seal was replaced due to serious latex leakage. After opening the machine seal, it was found that the latex produced self-polymer (shown in Figure 4-26) on the two sealed end faces, which made the sealed end faces unable to fit tightly and leaked. The frequent failure of mechanical seals caused the annual cost of spare parts for a pump to exceed 200,000 yuan, and seriously affected the normal production.
