Calculation of Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication of Mechanical Seals:
CARTEX mechanical seal is the elastic fluid lubrication of the full liquid film when the ratio of the fluid film thickness h to the roughness (film thickness ratio). According to the numerical calculation results of the line contact and point contact models, the relationship between the liquid film parameters and the pressure distribution can be obtained.
The following formulas are currently more common:
(1) Martin's formula is suitable for light-load rigid contact, where the elastic effect and viscous effect are very small.
(2) Brock's formula is suitable for situations where the pressure-viscosity effect is far greater than the elastic deformation effect.
(3) Herebro's formula is suitable for occasions where the elastic effect is far greater than the viscous effect.
(4) Dawson's formula is suitable for occasions where elastic effects and pressure-viscous effects are considered at the same time
In the above formulas, the speed parameter is the load parameter.
