The size of the load factor (area ratio) indicates the degree of load exerted by the medium pressure on the sealing end face. The size of K is related to the inner and outer diameters of the seal end face and the balance diameter. When the seal end face is determined and you want to change the K value, the common method is to set a step on the shaft or sleeve to reduce A. According to the size of K, mechanical seals can be divided into three types, which are used under different pressures, see Table 1-5.
