Alumina ceramics is made by adding a small amount of gold element to Al2O3, the composition of which is 88%~92%, and the rest is Fe, Cr, Ni, etc. The addition of metal elements can improve the thermal conductivity of alumina cermet and reduce brittleness, but its corrosion resistance has decreased. Silver oxide ceramics not only have high hardness and wear resistance, but also have good corrosion resistance. In addition to special media (hydrofluoric acid, fluorosilicic acid and concentrated alkali), it is almost resistant to corrosion by various media, has a small expansion coefficient, good thermal conductivity, and is resistant to high temperatures and certain temperature changes. Due to its excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance, silver oxide ceramic seal rings are widely used in corrosion-resistant mechanical seals. However, the dynamic and static rings of the mechanical seal cannot be made of alumina ceramics, otherwise, there is a danger of inducing static electricity.
