Two materials, one face pair: antimony-impregnated graphite running against pressureless sintered silicon carbide (SSIC). Both machined to a drawing, for marine duty.

The graphite ring is the carbon face; the SSIC ring is the hard face. The photos show what that means in practice: a locating hole, a stepped bore, an O-ring groove machined into the OD. Every one of those features comes off a drawing, not out of a catalogue.
