If a mechanical seal part fails, it is necessary to replace the part or improve the machining accuracy of the part. Improving the machining accuracy of the mechanical seal itself and the machining accuracy of other parts of the pump body is very beneficial to the effect of the mechanical seal.

In order to improve the sealing effect, the smoothness and unevenness of the friction surface of the dynamic and static rings are highly required. The width of the collision surface of the dynamic and static ring is not large, generally between 2 and 7 mm.

The principle of mechanical seal leakage

Leakage of mechanical seals is caused by various reasons, and we need to deal with specific problems in detail. In order to reduce the leakage to a great extent, when installing the mechanical seal, it must be assembled in strict accordance with the technical requirements, and at the same time pay attention to the following items.

1) The assembly should be clean and smooth. Mechanical seal parts, tools, lubricating oil, and wiping materials must be very clean. The sealing end faces of the dynamic and static rings should be wiped with soft gauze.

2) Trim chamfering and rounding. The chamfers of shafts and sealing end caps should be trimmed and smoothed, and the relevant rounded corners of shafts and end caps should be sanded and polished.

3) When assembling the auxiliary sealing ring, the rubber auxiliary sealing ring cannot be soaked and washed in gasoline or kerosene to avoid swelling, deformation and premature aging. After the dynamic and static rings are assembled, press the compensation ring by hand to check whether it is in place and flexible; whether the elastic split ring is positioned reliably. After the moving ring is installed, it must be guaranteed that it can move flexibly in the axial direction on the shaft.
