Take the unbalanced mechanical seal installed in a single end face of a centrifugal pump as an example, and the recommended installation sequence is as follows:

Squeeze the anti-rotation pin into the corresponding hole of the sealing end cap, and then insert the auxiliary sealing ring of the static ring from the end of the static ring. If a V-ring is used, pay attention to its installation method. If it is an O-ring, do not twist it. Then, align the anti-rotation pin groove on the back of the static ring with the anti-rotation pin and install it in the sealing end cover. The height of the anti-rotation pin should be just right, and there should be a distance of 1~2mm between the two periods of the static ring, and the static ring should not be on top. Finally, determine the distance A from the end face of the static ring to the end face of the sealing end cover. After the static ring is installed in the end cap, it is necessary to observe the verticality of the sealing end face and the line used to mark the core of the end cap and the flatness of the sealing end face. For pumps transporting liquid hydrocarbon media, the verticality error is not greater than 0.02mm, and oil and other media can be hosted within 0.04mm.

Specifies the installation position of the spring seat on the shaft

Specifying the installation position of the spring seat should be carried out on the basis of determining the position in front of the rotating shaft and the casing of the sealing chamber. Mark a reference line correctly on the pump shaft along the end face of the seal chamber. Then, according to the sealing work size marked on the sealing assembly drawing, the compression amount of the spring is adjusted to the assumed limit value by the positioning of the spring seat.
