Installation and maintenance of mechanical seals

Correct installation and maintenance of mechanical seals:

1) Disassembly of the mechanical seal

The disassembly sequence of the mechanical seal is contrary to the installation sequence. In the process of dismantling the mechanical seal, it is necessary to be careful. Do not use hand hammers, flat shovels, hit the mechanical seal, or damage the sealing surface of the dynamic and static rings of the mechanical seal. If there is too much dirt such as oil, it cannot be disassembled. , It must be cleaned with kerosene before disassembly, so as to keep the parts of the mechanical seal intact.

(2) Maintenance of mechanical seal

After removing the mechanical seal, start to inspect the pump body with the mechanical seal installed, and the following requirements must be met:

1. The shaft has a large curvature≤0.05mm, axial movement≤0.05mm;

2. The beating at the sealing ring of the moving ring≤0.01mm;

3. The surface roughness of the shaft or sleeve where the machine seal is installed is 1.6μm, the surface roughness in contact with the static ring sealing surface is 3.2μm;

4. Then overhaul the mechanical seal:

(1) Check the components of the mechanical seal. All components must be complete and undamaged, and there should be no scratches or bruises on the sealing surface of the dynamic and static rings. If any damage is found, it must be repaired or the mechanical seal must be replaced;

(2) Check whether the elastic force of the spring becomes smaller, if it becomes smaller, replace the spring;

(3) Check whether the inner wall of the seal and the inner surface of the seal end cover are damaged, and repair it in time if any problem is found.
