Introduction to the Causes of Mechanical Seal Leakage

If the mechanical seal leaks during use, it will definitely affect the efficiency of the equipment. Therefore, knowing the cause of the equipment leakage in detail can not only solve the problem, but also take corresponding preventive measures.
1. Periodic leakage
(1) The axial series momentum and frequency of the rotor are large, and the moving ring has no time to compensate;
(2) The operating pressure is unstable and the rotor vibrates periodically.
2. Frequent leakage
(1) One of the two ends of the east ring and the static ring is not perpendicular to the axis; the installation is not correct and uneven.
(2) The sealing ring is defective or the size does not match;
(3) For some reason, the dynamic and static rings are deformed;
(4) The end surface specific pressure is too small under the working pressure of the pump;
(5) The rotor shakes and vibrates too much;
(6) The rotation direction of the spring is reversed;
(7) There is dirt between the sealing surfaces, and the friction surfaces will be destroyed after driving;
(8) The anti-rotation pin is too long to withstand the static ring.
3. Large amount of leakage
(1) Damage the static ring during installation;
(2) The sealing surface deviates too much from the axis;
(3) The spring or moving ring is stuck so that the two ends cannot be attached.
4. Sudden leakage
(1) The pump is evacuated and the end face is opened to enter the dirt;
(2) The static ring cannot be reset when the pump is evacuated;
(3) Long-term operation of the pump diameter, fouling on the surface of the shaft sleeve, the sealing surface is worn and the moving ring is stuck and cannot move forward to compensate for the amount of wear, and the worn surface enters the pressure liquid, increasing the pushing force and pushing a larger distance;
(4) The wear amount of the friction pair exceeds the upper limit of the compression amount, and the pressure liquid enters between the friction end faces to push them away;
(5) The local high heat of the friction pair burns the sealing ring;
(6) There are crystals or solid particles in the medium entering between the friction surfaces, causing the friction pair to wear rapidly;
(7) The surface of the hard ring is broken and the soft ring is cut quickly;
(8) The pump vibrates violently, destroying the seal.
5, Leakage after deactivation
(1) Coking, scaling or rusting at the friction pair hinders the axial sliding of the seal;
(2) The elastic element was broken and damaged before the vehicle stopped.
