How to Change the Hydrostatic Fluid in a Cub Cadet Lawn Mower2

Cub Cadet has been producing static hydraulic drive lawn tractors for decades. The International Harvester made its first model under the brand of international young students and was later shortened to young students.During the manufacturing process, the hydraulic transmission in the new model of the young boy mower is sealed and the fluid cannot be changed. The 1970 s international cub trainees manufactured using a static hydraulic transmission are advised to replace only the transmission filter every 100 hours of use.In these old machines, the transport fluid will gel.Changing it will improve performance.Wipe grass and grease from the rear transmission cover. You do not want any debris to enter the transmission when you remove the cover.Clean the area around the drive filter with a clean rag.Lower the mowing deck.Place the pan under the transfer filter.Turn the filter counter clockwise with a filter wrench and remove the filter.Place the filter in the pan so that the liquid does not leak to the floor.Place the drain plate below the rear of the transmission.Remove the fill plug on the rear transmission cover with ratchet.Remove the three bolts at the bottom connecting the transmission cover and loosen all the other bolts, but do not remove them.Tap the screwdriver gently with a hammer and slide the screwdriver off the cover.Pry the lid open.It will be tightly glued together and will take time to remove.Prepare for loose lid and plenty of liquid discharge.By removing only three bolts at the bottom, the fluid will flow directly down to the drain.Discharge all the liquid. When the fluid is still drained by hydraulic pressure, a new transmission filter is installed.Apply a thin layer of transport fluid to the gasket of the filter.Screw the filter onto the tractor until the washer seat.Unscrew the filter and re-Tighten until the gasket touches the base.Turn half a circle againThe filter is now installed.Remove the rest of the bolt and clean the inside of the transmission cover.Scrape the lid and washer on the tractor with an putty knife.Remove all so that the new gasket can be sealed without leakage.Check if there is gel fluid inside the transmission.Wipe any gel-like liquid with a clean rag.Spray bolts and bolt holes with carburetor cleaner.Wipe them off with a clean rag.Clear all debris.Apply a thin layer of transport fluid to the gasket with your fingers, covering both sides.Place the gasket on the back cover and bolt the lid back to the tractor until the seal is firm.Fill the transmission with the new transmission fluid rated for your machine. The transmission is full when the fluid flows out of the filling hole.See the Operator Manual for the correct type of fluid.Replace the fill plug.Lift the lawn mower deck.Start the tractor and check for leaks around the back cover and filter. If a leak is found, tighten the filter or bolt where the liquid leaks.Drive the tractor for three or four minutes, heat the liquid and work through the system.Park the tractor on the level and turn off the engine.Remove the filling plug and check the level.Because the fluid is already pooled in the transmission filter, it will be very low.Add more liquid until you run out of filling plugs.Replace the fill plug.3 gallon or largertransfer oil filter with socketWhen the mower is closed and the key is removed, the head screwdriver hammer transmission fluid putty knife head cleaner back cover gasketOnly can only work on the mower.Follow all safety precautions in the machine operation manual.
