Figure 3-3 shows a typical spiral groove gas film seal structure for centrifugal compressors. The sealing structure is composed of a rotating ring 1, a static ring 2, a spring 3, an O-ring 4, 5, and 8, a shaft 6 and an assembly sleeve 7. Figure 3-3(b) shows the spiral groove on the surface of the swivel and the sealed end face after grinding and polishing. The spiral groove is several microns deep, and the shape is similar to a logarithmic spiral. The sealing end face is mainly composed of three parts: fluid dynamic pressure groove (spiral groove), sealing weir and sealing dam. Among them, the fluid dynamic pressure groove plays a pumping role, forming a fluid film, and generating the fluid film bearing capacity (the spiral groove generates the static and dynamic pressure bearing capacity of the fluid film); the sealing weir generates the static and dynamic pressure bearing capacity of the fluid film to prevent the fluid from moving along. Circumferential leakage; the sealing dam produces the static pressure bearing capacity of the fluid film to prevent the leakage of the fluid along the radial direction.
