Common faults and solutions of mechanical seals for kettles

1. Failure phenomenon: leakage occurs at the sealing surface. Cause of failure: loose screw thread; damage to the sealing surface. Remedy: re-tighten the screw; re-grind and polish the sealing surface.

2. Failure phenomenon: There is leakage at the valve. Cause of failure: The valve stem (needle) and the sealing surface of the valve port are damaged. Remedy: Repair, replace the valve stem (needle) and valve port.

3. Failure phenomenon: the outer magnet rotates, the inner magnet does not rotate, and the motor current decreases. Cause of failure: The temperature rise in the kettle is too high, the cooling cycle is not smooth, and the inner magnetic steel is demagnetized due to high temperature. Hydrogenation reaction, the inner magnetic steel sleeve has cracks, and the inner magnetic steel expands. Remedy: notify the supplier and replace the inner magnet.

4. Fault phenomenon: there is friction noise in the magnetic coupling drive. Causes of failure: The shaft sleeve and bearing are worn, the gap is too large, and the inner magnetic steel rotates. Remedy: Contact the supplier or mechanical seal manufacturer to replace the bearing and bushing.

In order to reduce failures, the following matters need to be paid attention to when installing and using mechanical seals for kettles:

1. The air in the sealing cavity must be exhausted during installation, especially the double-end seal with sealing liquid, and more attention should be paid to exhausting the air. When restarting the car, the suction valve should be opened first, and the motor should be turned on after the liquid (medium) enters the sealing chamber.

2. Before the device is started, check that the shaft resistance is normal and even, and no jamming is allowed.

3. Before the equipment is running, the sealing cavity must be filled with medium to maintain good lubrication, and dry friction is strictly prohibited, which will cause the sealing to fail.
